This Web site is primarily intended as an online notebook of the response to sea level rise of a small rural township along the Delaware Bay. The project is inspired by the book "Collapse: How Societies choose to Fail or Succeed" by Jared Diamond that describes the predicable series of human behaviors that a society faces when placed under with the growing pressures of environmental collapse.

The project was launched October 21, 2012 by author Tony Novak with background information only so material will grow over time. Novak speculates that Downe Township NJ might be one of the first governmental entities in this region to collapse under the mounting financial and political impact of environmental change.
